Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair

In 1958, Arne Jacobsen developed the Egg Chair or "the egg". The Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair was designed for the lobby of his overall work at the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The design of the Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair does not contain any straight lines. It consists exclusively of curves and is described as organic. The backrest goes up and becomes wider as in the case of classical earthenware.

Arne Emil Jacobsen is regarded as the most important Danish architect and designer in Denmark in the 20th century. In 1924, Arne Jacobsen had learned the profession of the stonemason, after which he studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.

Seat shell made of polyurethane with glass fiber reinforcement. It is fitted with an adjustable tilt fitting that can be adjusted according to the weight of the user. The adjustment handle is made of stainless steel. The frame consists of a satin chrome-plated, rotatable column pipe made of welded steel (diameter 39 mm, wall thickness 2 mm) with a star base made of die-cast aluminum.

Like all our furniture, this chair is made by hand in selected Italian specialist workshops.

Height: 107 cm x width: 86 cm x depth: 79 (95) cm.
