Marcel Breuer Wassily Chair B3

The Marcel Breuer Wassily chair B3 was designed in 1925. Allegedly the Marcel Breuer Wassily chair B3 was designed for the house of Bauhaus master Wassily Kandinsky while he was a teacher at the Bauhaus in Dessau. So the Wassily chair came to his name. Marcel Breuer saw himself inspired by his eagle bike whose power and ease had impressed him. The model designation B3 is rather rare.

Revolutionary at that time in particular the use of steel pipes and the manufacturing process of the Marcel Breuer Wassily chair B3. The steel tube frames were then only nickel-plated. The high-gloss chromium plating as well as the model offered in its current version was only found later in the manufacturing process.

High-gloss chrome-plated tubular steel frame. Tube ends welded, hand polished and high gloss chromium plated. Seat, backrest and armrests made of core leather.

Like all of our furniture, the Marcel Breuer Wassily chair B3 is produced by hand in selected Italian specialist workshops.
