Philippe Starck
Philippe Starck is a French designer and one of the most famous representatives of the "New Design". Starck was born on 18.01.1949 in Paris.

Starck's versatile designs can be found in almost every field - from architecture to product design. In addition to spectacular interiors, he also designed simple utilitarian objects.
 
Starck studied at the École Camondo in Paris. In 1965 he won the furniture competition "La Vilette" and in 1968 founded a company for inflatable objects.

In 1971/72 he became artistic director at the Pierre Cardin studio. From 1976 he worked mainly in the USA and Japan. The interior design for the Cafe Costes in Paris(1984-1994) whose interior Starck designed became world famous.
 
Philippe Starck does not try to provoke with his works. He designs mainly, saleable products, which are also inexpensive in comparison with other designers. He mainly uses organic shapes and streamlined forms for his works and combines unusual materials such as plush and chrome.

According to himself, his designer principle is the principle of reduction or ethics of omission. Thus, he avoids any unnecessary decor. Also in the design of interiors
Starck has made a name for himself. Not least through his work for former French President Franzois Mitterand, Starck had repeatedly set new trends.
