Le Corbusier armchair

Nowadays, there is no way around the design of the LC2 armchair when it comes to modern furniture classics and designs by Le Corbusier.
The armchair is therefore also called the mother of club chairs

The model's recognition value, which expresses the taste and style of its owner is unsurpassed to this day.

Unlike today, the Corbusier Fauteuil originally appeared more casual than the sleek, austere version one encounters in stores these days.
The frame was always lacquered, the five inlaid cushions (two as seat cushions, two armrests, one as back cushion) were filled with feathers and were therefore softer and sympathetically crumpled.

The LC2 single-seater therefore did not look cubic but roundish, which contradicts itself. Yet this is exactly what presently makes this club chair extremely likeable.

In models produced today, changes and innovations were incorporated into the production process. This is reflected, among other things, in a flawless chrome plating - which could not be realized with the galvanic technology of the time - durable seat covers and the interior of the chair.

The seat cushion of the armchair LC2 is additionally lined with natural down. This quality feature can only be found at classicfactory24.com and comes at no extra charge. (Not with the category Business. Standard starting at category HIGH CLASS).

    History of creation
Le Corbusier, together with his cousin Pierre Jeanneret and designer Charlotte Perriand, developed the model LC2 for the Paris Autumn Salon in 1928. The design - at the time avant-garde, elegant and timeless and far ahead of its time. As a result, the famous LC collection - Grand Comfort - came forth which later achieved worldwide fame. The conceived armchair with its simplicity of clean straight lines, a displayed rigor and its precision were a hallmark of a completely new style at that time. This model quickly rose to become a modern classic.

    Le Corbusier (1887 - 1965)
whose real name was Charles-Douard Jeanneret-Gris and who was of Swiss-French descent, was considered one of the most important designers and architects of the 20th century.
Corbusier worked as an artist - was a draftsman, painter and sculptor - later architect, urban planner and furniture designer.

Le Corbusier became famous for his furniture designs. His most famous works were the LC2 armchair, the LC1 Basculante chair, the LC4 chaise longue, the LC7 swivel chair, the LC6 dining room table, the LC3 two-seater sofa, the LC5 sofa. He derived his pseudonym Le Corbusier from his great-grandfather Charles l'Eplattenier, who furthermore was his teacher.

    Symbiosis of idea and approach
A basic idea and approach of the master Le Corbusier continuously influenced him in his work - to redesign a house as a machine for living.

Le Corbusier created a form, cubic and compact and therefore quite minimalistic but with high seating comfort. Le Corbusier armchair LC2 is still considered one of the most famous Bauhaus classics that holds the status of a design icon.

The armchair appears comparatively compact and narrow, which surprisingly does not affect its seating comfort. Its high-quality covers are not only upholstered but cleverly provided with various fillers that bring the armchair into shape and almost maintain it.

    Available in many variants
The armchair can be ordered in different variations of leather or in fabric. Frame and tubular steel frames are high-gloss chrome-plated or can be painted in all common RAL-colors.
This design armchair convinces with its minimalistic aesthetics, its function and its timeless appearance. Its aura is almost sublime and yet it has something cozy about it. The LC armchair fits into any office, living room, men's room or waiting room.
