What are originals?
"Original" means those few preserved contemporary pieces that can be viewed today in museums, offered in exclusive auction houses or in private collector's hands.
It is common practice that exclusive sales organizations only label their products as "authentic" in order to sell them as "originals".
This reasoning or better misinformation should deliberately mislead the consumer in order to suggest that an exorbitant price is justified with an extremely (alleged) high quality.
The buyer should also believe that by purchasing an exorbitant amount a unique model has been acquired. (This can not be on the basis of the manufactured series and piece numbers however).
We consider such sales arguments and strategies as misleading as questionable and reject them.
However, in lexicons the term "original" has a completely different explanation which has nothing to do with the subject of furniture.
We believe that a facsimile signature or even a serial number can make a piece of furniture neither original nor authentic and also does not justify exorbitant sales prices.
