Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Bed
No matter what you call it, Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Bed, Day Bed or Lounger - this piece of furniture is not designed for the 1929 Barcelona World's Fair but for Philip Johnson's apartment in New York in 1930.
Although the bed - known as the Day Bed - was designed for a different occasion than the armchairs, this daybed is clearly based on the Barcelona model series.
The van der Rohe bed exudes as much luxury and comfort as the famous armchair does.
Just as with the armchair, the small squares of the Barcelona bed's upholstery are cut by hand using presses and later sewn together. Here, too, many small parts are needed for the said process to end up with a finished and, above all, valuable piece of furniture. All again by hand and hard to believe that this bed still remains affordable. Cheap suppliers mostly from the Far East will not be able to offer them these quality features.
The raw Barcelona bed is available with leather mattress and bolster on hardwood frame beech stained walnut with chrome legs.
Optionally available: Black stained beech wood frame. Other color options are available upon request and at additional cost.
Like all our furniture, this exceptional bed is handcrafted in selected Italian workshops.

Due to the special situation (pandemic, etc.), the production time of the van der Rohe Barcelona bed is starting at about 10 weeks. In addition, about 5 to 8 working days for delivery. Depending on the destination. (As of February 2022)
