Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Stool
Mies' Barcelona stool is probably the most famous piece of furniture by van der Rohe, along with the armchair and the bed. The model series were designed, among other things, for the German pavilion at the 1929 World's Fair in Barcelona. That is where the name comes from.
At the World's Fair, the armchairs were reserved for the Spanish royal couple. Everyone else was only allowed to sit on the Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Stool.
Already long ago, the Barcelona stool reached the rest of the people and it is almost impossible to imagine a design classic without it.
The foot part decorates congress halls, reception areas, practices, law firms as well as private living rooms.
Please note: The small squares of the seat and back upholstery of the Barcelona stool are cut by hand using presses and sewn later. The pieces are sewn by hand later for this process. And it's hard to believe that it still remains affordable in the end.
In addition to the aforementioned press-cutting process and the joining of the individual squares by hand (sewing), the models of the Barcelona armchair and stool series are manufactured in the LUXURY version (marked with "LUX"). This corresponds to the process of Knoll International and can be easily added to existing models from this series. You will be delighted. (Cheap suppliers with products from the Far East will not be able to offer these quality features.)
Interior design tip: Customize your Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Stool and order the Ottoman with contrasting leather straps for a small additional charge.
Like all of our furniture, this furniture classic is handcrafted in select Italian workshops.
